"Staff is amazing! Rooms are nice and modern. We stayed the night we arrived in CR and the night before we left. There is a Walmart next to the hotel for affordable essentials. They kindly let us check in early. There is a parking lot for your car with a guard. The neighborhood is not very safe, we felt like taking a walk around the block, wasn’t the best idea. Best to stick to the hotel and the Walmart. "

"We stayed here for the night before our flight home. Very bare bones, basic lodging, but that's what I paid for. The hostess was very nice, and she made an excellent breakfast, and the place is kept very clean. The neighborhood seemed a bit rough, but we just stayed in after dark and they have good security. If you do stay here and don't speak Spanish, have google translator ready- owners do not speak English. "

"Alajuela guest house never disappoints us! Perfect for a night before or after air travel, just a 5 minute cab ride to the airport, and their desk is staffed 24/7. Love the historic charm of the building and the efficient rooms. Good breakfast and very helpful before our stay at setting us up a private, very reasonably priced tour of Poas volcano and waterfalls, coffee farm. Will keep returning here on our way in and out of San Jose airport! "
