"We visited Edinburgh for the first time. Came across this place during our research and booked without hesitation, as it was truly so historical. We didn’t mind it was 20-25’ cab drive from the city center and it was worth it. Dating back to 1480, it is still in such a good shape. This is literally the oldest place we’ve ever slept in. "We had an amazing stay from start to finish. Ian gave us a tour if the castle along with a history. The rooms were cozy, the bed was very comfortable. The owners even gave us a ride to the tram when we were unable to find a taxi. Sue and Ian are a friendly helpful couple. "

"We had a great two night stay at the Ravelston House Hotel. Room was very comfortable with an excellent en suite. Tea and coffee provided and the included breakfast was also very good. Bar menu was good, can recommend the haddock. Easy links in and out of the city by very frequent buses which stop within a few yards of the hotel in either direction.
