"I liked everything about the property. What I didn’t like is that my room was in front of a restaurant that played loud music on the weekends. The staff at the front desk seemed to lack knowledge of the area and weren’t particularly helpful. So we approached the waiters who spoke English for information. They were extremely helpful and friendly. "

"Staff — excellent. Food — very good. Location — amazing. But two minor quibbles. 1. Bar closes at 6 — right when I start thinking about a cocktail. There is a space above the reception that is set up like a bar but was never open the two times we stayed there. 2. Rooms are luxurious but there is no glass in the windows/doors so when it is hot (most of the time in Zihuatanejo) you have all the shutters closed for A/C so no view at all. The pools could use a little maintenance on things like broken tiles, but appeared overall clean and inviting. Spa staff was great. Only hazard I ran into was the two steps down off the bed in the middle of the night."

Marea is on a 20 km stretch of pure white sand each with almost no one around! The property is beautiful and the villas with plunge pools on the deck, beautiful interiors and comfortable furniture make it hard to want to go beyond your own front (patio) doors! "
