"All staff members encountered were helpful and friendly. They work very hard and we noticed. The hotel is a great location to be able to walk to Royal Mile and down Princes Street. When everything closes early than expected in Edinburgh being able to hang out in the lounge area was great. At first glance, there are some run-down shops nearby, but I felt safe and it was easy to get to two different tram stops without worry. "

"Well positioned hotel and good sized apartment which we would use again. Our only criticism related to the quality of the instructions for using the equipment - we never got the hob to work properly, there were no instructions for the dishwasher and there was insufficient"

"We stayed at the Moxie for three nights. The hotel is in a great location for walking. The staff was very pleasant and efficient. The room was comfortable. The restaurant was very good. I liked the fact that a computer was easy to access so everything didn't need to be done on my phone."

"The staff were pleasant and assisted with information on transportation into the city etc I was able to drop my bags off in the morning before checking in and return later in the day. Easy to get the shuttle to the airport "

"Loved the hotel. Smelled amazing lol. Handy for trains, shops and all things Edinburgh. The only issue I had was I couldn’t access the WiFi. No internet whatsoever and I really needed to be able to be contacted. Highly recommend the Mercure though. Definitely will be back."

"Really good, lovely welcoming staff. Room had good facilities and range of condiments. Able to take dog and separate areas for dining. Great facilities. Close to a park and beach with good public transport stopping outside and train station within walking distance. "

"Very easy to check in, didn’t see anyone but everything is done digitally and all communication was great. The hotel could do with freshening up a bit, but had everything needed and no problems at all. Nice area, buses run reg to city centre."

"In a great spot a few minutes walk from St Andrew Square It’s a traditional hotel a bit like a BBC drama set that pays homage to the armed forces All in all it was very good value for money as it was cheaper than a hotel on the square"
