"People were vaping and smoking constantly in front of lobby doors. It would even come into the lobby. Additionally, people were vaping in the hallways and sometimes would sit at the benches by the elevator, at all hours, doing it so it would smell like weed. My room was right by the elevator so at one point my room was a little smoky and I was worried there was a fire but it was just someone vaping. "Lovely stay. Tiny room. No closet. No tub, but for four days, the location and amenities suited me just fine. Kudos especially to Liz (Alderman) and Francis (Alderman bartender). "I liked the room size. Perfect for one individual. I was unaware that there was no elevator and I was on the 5th floor. Stairs are hard to climb and descend with luggage. Would recommend assistance or a note to allow people to know about the lack of elevators. There were ample food options in the neighborhood. "

"The location is spot on but at times it is evident that the place needs a lot of work. My room card stopped working several times and on one occasion I had to wait at reception for 15 mins before someone was available to assist me. Great location and price.

"We were quite pleased with the quality of this New York hotel in light of the great location and excellent price. We found the staff very helpful and the bed very comfortable. All in all, a great place to stay right across from Carnegie Hall, and not far from Time Square or Central Park."
