"Very convenient for our trip to the local hospital and very reasonable price including breakfast. A warm welcome at reception on check-in. Nice large room with comfortable big bed. You can open the windows to let in fresh air - not always possible these days at some hotels. We loved that it was over the pub/restaurant (a good menu plus specials and what we had was cooked really well) yet the pub couldn’t be heard from the room. Breakfast had a good selection of cereals etc and cooked options....

"I arrived on New Years Eve, but the property hadn't warned me that the only food option was a three course meal at £44.50. Similarly on New Years Day, I went early for dinner at 6.15 to be told the kitchen closed at 6. No one had alerted me to the early closure. They did make me some Tapas. If I had known I would have eaten elsewhere before returning to hotel. The food on New Years Day was excellent, I just didn't want to spend that much money. "

"The room could of done with a bit of a make over some wall paper peeling off and house keeper tried to come in and clean the room before i even left on the morning of check out which check out was at 11am and hosue keeper came at 9am than felt a bit rushed to leave. "The Hat het is a loverly picturesque pub/ hotel. Welcome excellent, food and ambiance perfect. VFM good. The thing that let it down was cleanliness of the room- smeared bathroom mirror looked like it was cleaned with a soiled cloth ( had to clean it to see any reflection!) the toilet rim covered in hair & dust & the lamp shades & corners of the room rife with cobwebs. We did enjoy our stay however and we did report the room dissatisfaction to the young service lady but no apology or explanation...

"A nice stay on our way back from Portsmouth to Lincoln. We arrived at 10.30 pm and made very welcome, we ordered a sandwitch in the bar which was no trouble. The room was fine . Good access to the motorways and plenty of safe parking if you have a nice car. Take an hour to discovery the vast grounds of the hall before you leave. We will stay here again. Graham & Gaynor R"
