"The resort had a good layout and the space felt open and was really well designed compared to other resorts. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The vibe is really chill. Not a party resort vibe. The food was fantastic. Almost upscale dining level. Even the service was great. Personally I didn’t mind only having 1 or 2 restaurant options for each meal but I can see how that could be a bummer for some. Drinks were great although inconsistent in quality depending which bar you order from. Activities were cool and felt creative. Did a sunrise walking tour of the island where we walked a portion of the island coast and saw a bunch of sea turtles. There was a cool cooking class. And dancing which we missed. There were many guests when we were there which was nice but it would be nice if it felt a small bit busier and a bit livelier. Unfortunately we noticed someone went through our things in our room on the second day and had stolen a small amount of cash, about 600 pesos and 30 Canadian Dollars (not enough to be worth getting upset about and ruining the trip so we just let it go). We think it was likely housekeeping, but I guess impossible to know for sure. In hind sight we should have put it in the safe. Lastly it’s a great little boutique resort to relax for a few days. The food is much better than your average resort but less options. You may be repeating dishes if you are there for more than 5 days."

"Beautiful property, very clean & spacious rooms. My only complaint is the beachfront is a bit misleading. The ocean is full of growing plant life, grass, seaweed & I was unaware of that. I understand it’s part of the wildlife and needs to stay there but I wish I had known ahead of time. Still fully enjoyed my time there! :)"

"What a gem! The shared kitchen between the 6 suites was great. We loved the pool, the sound of the ocean and watching the frigatbirds and pelicans. The room had a very comfortable bed, great AC, wifi and a cool shell shower. No TV, and we did not need it as we had ocean views. Gabriela welcomed us and was an excellent host. Thank you for thw great 6 days! "

"I can't say enough good things about our stay at Casa de la Playa. Our family (8 of us....54 yrs - 2yrs) just had the most wonderful vacation. The house and beach exceeded our expectations in all accounts. Carlos, Jacqueline, Ramon & Timoteo went out of their way to make our stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. They attended to our every need. We were not expecting that but so thankful for all they did. The beach was perfect for our grandsons & for the adults. It was raked and beautiful before we woke up each morning. The water was clear with gentle waves and they had floats, beach toys, kayaks & paddle boards for us to use. Carlos helped us find a contact to have jet skis delivered to the house (so much fun)!We also scheduled a private transfer to the dock which was right down the street from the house. I highly recommend this. We used Isla Fun Tours. Amazing! We've been coming to the island since 2010 and this was by far our best experience! If you're thinking about a stay here, don't hesitate. Truly amazing!"

"We had a wonderful stay! The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and easy to communicate with. Just a heads-up, the walk from the ferry can be quite long, so I’d suggest arranging for a golf cart in advance. You can rent one through the property, but they only accept cash, and the price is a bit higher. However, this wouldn't impact my overall positive review. I would definitely recommend this place to others and would love to stay here again. We also had the amazing experience of feeding the turtles, and we even got to see a few nesting—it's great that the staff marks each spot for preservation!"
