We had a lovely stay in the premium King room. The location was the perfect distance for us to walk about and see the city. We had a brief safety concern when first arriving at our room, which was quickly resolved by the staff who were very understanding and kind.

I enjoyed my stay at the Royal Terrace hotel, it was a few minutes walk to the station and the attractions while just far away enough to be quiet. When i return to Edinburgh in the warmer months i may use this hotel again.

We waited in the Nook bar for ages for a drink. The server was rude and the table wasn't cleaned. We were planning to have dinner in the restaurant but after waiting for a table we decided to take a cab and go elsewhere.

Staff were nice and friendly and breakfast was decent with a convenient location. However the room ruined the experience for me. We booked a standard room. At no moment in time it was said that this could be an underground room. Room was dark, noisy and smelled like bathroom pipes. Not at all the quality expected when we pay as much as we did.

If it weren’t for the two workers at reception I would have left immediately. There was no air conditioning in our room and the windows didn’t open so by the time we left there were two small fans in the room. Sadly I believe the condition of the air got me and my travel partner sick with 5 more days of travel to take. I can’t stress enough how incredible and understanding the staff was but the actually living situation was below average.
