Fingerlakes Cayuga Lakefront Home, Amazing Views and Deck, Pet Friendly, Upscale

A gorgeous, updated, three-bedroom house directly on Cayuga Lake but only minutes from downtown Ithaca. Our house has spectacular lake views, a modern floor plan, and beautiful, high-end construction and details. Special features include a stoned faced fireplace, striking wide plank floors, and a modern kitchen with modern appliances. First-floor full bath and guest room. Upstairs you will be delighted with the master suite with more gorgeous lake views. The driveway is realtively close to the front door compared to most other West Shore properties. Private frontage and dock. Kayaks, Canoe. Fast internet service with wifi, A/C, Washer Dryer, Roku TV, DVD player, gas fireplace, wine cooler.

Reasons to rent this house:

1) The single-family house is directly on Cayuga Lake with amazing views from the deck and dock, near wineries, and also only 5 minutes from downtown Ithaca restaurants and shopping, and less than 15 min. from the colleges.

2) We use only solar electricity, powered by Solar Farms, New York.

3) In summer, you can drive close to the front door, no major staircase to the house (as is common on Cayuga Lake). However, you must be able-bodied and sure-footed. There is a path with a series of concrete steps (a total of 21). In winter, we have a new staircase from the road with 52 steps. The house is not appropriate for anyone with walking disabilities (sorry).

4) There are 2.5 bathrooms.

5) Two kayaks on the property, a canoe, private dock.

6) The house is big enough for two families to share. We have 3 bedrooms and a bonus room (with a sleeper sofa), plus a sleeper sofa with memory foam mattress in the living room.

7) Our house is equipped with a high chair, a pack-n-play, an infant bath, and myriad toys, books, and games.

Who Can Rent:
The house is not appropriate for loud/late-night parties. We do not allow additional guests. Also, sorry, the house is not handicapped accessible.

All adult guests staying at the house must sign our license agreement and agree to our house rules.

Our property is steep. There is a long staircase to the house from the upper driveway with 52 steps. The path from the lower parking is relatively flat. All tenants and guests must be able to navigate the stairs with ease. Unfortunately, it is not handicapped accessible. We do not have a grass yard.

Winter: Our house is a real house that is winterized and you can set the thermostat to whatever is comfortable. We do not always plow or shovel the lower driver in winter. Winter tenants should plan to walk from the upper parking to the house.

Gorgeous lakeside property!
Our stay was too short, but everything was just what we needed and expected. Super clean, right on the lake. Upper parking lot on a busy road but we didn't hear any of that from the house. Many thanks for sharing this beautiful home with us!

Unbelievable views and beautiful property
We booked a quick trip, last minute for our kids' fall break and could not have been more thrilled with this property. The house is beautiful and the views you just have to see for yourself. It is so peaceful and serene. We loved the decks and sitting on the dock. I can't say enough about the property itself which was very nicely decorated and very clean. Aside from the house itself, the location is my favorite in the area. You are right on the lake which is so quiet, but you are also a quick drive to Ithaca & Cornell campuses. We went to Taughannock Falls and Ithaca Falls on this trip. It is very close to Treman also , but we ran out of time. There are great restaurants/wineries/breweries close by, but have to come back for a longer trip. From someone who books often on VRBO, we LOVED this place. Also, dog friendly and we brought our dog everywhere with us!

Have to drive everywhere
The house is on a busy street. You must drive to get anywhere including somewhere to walk your dog. The house is lovely and well maintained. There is a rusty pipe under the corner of the dock that one of us cut themselves on while swimming in the lake and the steps leading into the lake are very slippery

Life on the Lake
We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the beautiful cottage that had every amenity you would ever need. It was only a mile from Cass Park with a very expansive dog park so we could let the dog get his exercise. We will hopefully be back to Ithaca next year. So relaxing!

Gorgeous home and views in this bright, peaceful place on the lake
This is a beautifully appointed and well maintained home, with dock and two level large (new) wooden deck right on the lake on a quiet stretch of road just outside of Ithaca (so close to everything in town). The large windows give ample natural light and provide stunning lake views to the large kitchen/living area and the primary bedroom. The spacious deck with ample, quality deck furniture was great for enjoying the view and fresh air, and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. Everything seemed very clean and well taken care of. We will definitely look for this home for a future stay in Ithaca.

Wonderful Lake House Getaway
My adult daughters and I stayed at this beautiful lake house and highly recommend it to families or groups of friends looking for an upscale home with all the amenities. The house is gorgeous! Spacious and beautifully decorated. We loved the huge shower with the bench and skylight, the porch swing, the double kayak, the comfy deck chairs and the kitchen that had everything including a toaster oven, wine fridge, mini drink fridge, blender and coffee maker among other things. Of course being right on the water with a private dock was the bomb. The view from the master bedroom was stunning. Seeing the sunrise laying in a super comfy bed was so relaxing. We loved the layout of the house because we could gather for meals and games comfortably in the large living room but there were plenty of spaces to have individual quiet time as well with the extra downstairs den and two story wraparound deck. The lake is very easy to navigate in the kayaks and canoe provided. We loved how active the lake is with families using a wide variety of boats. It was fun to sit on the dock or deck and watch the fun and the water fowl. So many ducks, gulls and loons! A special bonus was the friendly rooster and chicken couple that visited throughout the day. They were so cute the way they hung out together and roamed around clucking and peeking in the door! 😆 Our host, Carolyn, was super responsive and answered our questions within minutes. Wonderful experience in Ithaca! Loved it!

Amazing!
This was our 2nd time staying here (the first time in 2020). The location is perfect to both Ithaca and Trumansburg, the updated deck is just gorgeous, and the easy access to the lake with the kayaks and canoe make the stay even more relaxing. Lakefront with character and charm!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed a few nights on the banks of Cayuga Lake, while being very close to Ithaca and surrounding natural areas of interest. We loved the warm wood floors and overall timeless character of the home. Great views of the lake including awesome master bedroom views as well. The outdoor stairs and decking all appeared recently updated and provided good access to the dock and water. We had pretty decent weather to fish a bit off the dock with the kids, but it was too chilly to get out in the lake. Communication with Carolyn was quick and very helpful. The house was very clean and well maintained. Two local spots we enjoyed were Buttermilk Falls and Taughannock Gorge (and we would have loved nearby Watkins Glen had we come when the gorge trail was open). Overall, we all enjoyed it here and would definitely book again.

Great weekend stay
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful house with our family and another family during a ski weekend to Greek Peak. The house had everything we needed and was well stocked, the bedrooms were spacious, and it was very comfortable. The deck and views over the lake are incredible - we hope to be back in the summer to enjoy the warm weather amenities! The property manager was very responsive and kind. Definitely recommend this place!

Very nice home with gorgeous views on the lake. There were paddle boats but we did not use them since it rained on that day. Just some small improvements: 1) add an airfryer 2) provide basic shampoos/body wash in refillable containers that cannot be tamper by guests 3) provide some small towels.

Cozy Lakeview
This was the perfect place for our family while visiting for a wedding. Important to note that this home, as well as many homes along the road, are located a good distance down a sizable hill from the road. And then, if you wish to go down to the lake, there are quite a few more stairs. You will see many cars parked along the road and stairway entrances. So if you have mobility issues, this may not work for you. That said, the stairs are in great repair. The stairs leading from the from down to the lake are brand new. The owner’s communication and descriptions were very prompt and detailed. The home was comfortable and had plenty of space for our family to relax in between activities. We didn’t do much cooking as time wouldn’t allow, but there are so many restaurants around Ithaca college that finding food was not a problem. A simple Google search will find you plenty of outdoor activities like great hiking trails, playgrounds, and water activities. We are not “winery people”, but if you are, you won’t be disappointed! I highly recommend a stay in this home

Abundant deck space
This house was perfect for out family vacation. The deck was fabulous with 2 levels to enjoy. We spent many mornings and evenings enjoying the lake view from it. We also enjoyed utilizing the available kayaks and swimming in the lake when we weren’t exploring the area. Would definitely try to stay here again.
