"Very helpful staff, very clean. It’s an old but renovated property, not a luxury hotel but a solid option. Location is great - short walk from the water and many dining/shopping options, but the traffic introduces some noise. The pool was lovely, and the morning yoga and coffee cart were excellent. "Oceanfront 4th floor 1 BR facing (west) the ocean provided amazing views. The comfortable balcony was perfect for breakfast with crashing surf and enjoying evening sunsets. "Very nice and comfortable family spot. No restaurant on site which was too bad and for three nights, no housekeeping. There were tennis and pickle ball courts which was fun for the kids. Lots of folks walking and several small swimming pools. The unit was outdated and generally clean but could use a deep clean and some updates. "We stayed at Mango Sunset for 7 nights, and Heidi and Dan were wonderful hosts! They're a couple of the most kindhearted and friendly people we've ever met. They offered suggestions on activities around the island and made sure we had everything we needed, including beach chairs and umbrellas. "Nice little place in very good location. 50 yard walk to water front Alii Street full of good restaurants. Very popular place. Would have been nice to have a table to eat at. I always found a place to park but parking is difficult. It is what it is. There was a $270+ fee added to my charge that I was not made aware of at time of booking. Otherwise it was a pretty inexpensive place to stay in an expensive destination"

"Everything about the property itself was great! Instructions were clear and the lodge was a nice set up with ambient views of the forest. Staff who checked us in and out were also welcoming and friendly. One thing that was concerning were the zionists flags in the nearby area, so safety was in question. Those flags symbolize the support and complacency of the ongoing genocide in Palestine. If the property owners and management don’t see it as a problem, I would not stay there again and let others know too. "

"It was unclear whether we were to have breakfast or not. We thought we were getting the continental breakfast but because we had a kitchen (which we didn’t use) we were not given breakfast. As far as the lava tube goes, we were told you had to have a guided tour. Communication in advertising not clear. "

"Staff and environment was just top tier. From checking in, and dining in the restaurant, we had no issues during our stay. The rooms are cozy and clean and comfortable. Although the hot tub was closed off, we still enjoyed our stay. The Ohia room was beautiful. Dining dinner options was excellent and great quality food and lots to explore around volcano area! Me and my husband checked out the trails at bird park up the road in the morning, amazing views and time. Mahalo for making our stay so special ❤️"

"This was an amazing tropical paradise! Tropical open air rooms with fabulous decor and healing mediative areas to enjoy the tranquility in Captain Cook. Less than 2 miles from the popular snorkeling spot "Two Step" and the historical monument known as "Place of Refuge". The breakfast was excellent with multiple fruits, breads, oatmeal, nut butters, chia and yogurt, and huge selection of local jams. Staff was helpful - especially Ausin who showed us the fruit trees all over the grounds including the labyrinth and yoga area. we will definitely be staying again; we stayed in the writers Studio- truly offered all the comforts of home. "
