"I cannot say enough the good things about this property. First of all the price is very good. And it comes with free shuttle pickup from the train station. Free breakfast. Decent size of room. Friendly staff who speaks good English. Automatic check-in checkout machine. When we checked out to go to Gotemba premium outlet as the next step, I realized they have a free bus service to send us straight there. And we could have used the same free service when we came from Mishima train station which could saved more. Highly recommended."

The dinner included with our reservation was top tier and the outside gardens were absolutely gorgeous. We spent most of our time walking around enjoying the garden in between dinner and the onsen. "This was a beautiful mountain ryokan with several onsen baths, public and private, including a private wooden tub in the room itself. We were given yukata and tabi socks to wear around the hotel, and treated to a kaiseki dinner and Japanese breakfast with local, traditional ingredients. We loved the shady forest landscape and all of the care put into maintaining this special place. The facilities are a little bit older, but we expected this when booking, and were delighted by the accommodations! If you are looking for somewhere bright and modern, this is not it. This is a cozy, forested, mossy location."

"Our stay at Hotel Mt.Fuji was a good experience overall. Although the hotel is 60 years old, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The building could use some exterior renovations. The views of Mt Fuji were spectacular from the room and courtyard. The staff was friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was great. The dinner restaurants (only two) were a bit pricey but the food was very good. We really enjoyed the hot pools with magnificent views. The shuttle service to the bus stop at the bottom of the hill and back up was mandatory. There's no way you can hike up and down that hill to the hotel, There's a handful of places to eat and shop around the lake area. Nice and quiet retreat from the busy city. "
