Naples Hotel Guide - Royal Palace of Portici hotels in Naples, Italy.

"Even though it was for 1 night, I had a wonderful time staing at hitel Marad. I had a hard time getting to the hotel by public transportation (not sure if it was due to the sunday schedule but the nearby bus 001 E was hard to find). Once in the property, you have to walk down the path and the reception is on the right. The host apoke englisj. Checkin was quick. Once you get in the room, slide your key on that machine on the wall to activate the light switches; otherwise, the switches wont turn on. The hotel recommended me pizzeria Mennella for dinner (forst meal of the day) and I was very satisfied. The pizza order is a whole pie but it was so light that I wasnt bloated or stuffed at all. I ordered a tiramisu and baba au rum (soaked but not mushy at all) from their bakery next door. I went to bed very happy. The breakfast was continetal style but it was really great with many choices. Hot cocoa available upon request. Again, my stomach was satisfied without the feeling of fullness. For transport convenience, the front desk can call a driver for you. Each ride for me was 30€ which was good pricing overall. Although he didnt apeak English, making the effort to speak italian will motivate him to go above and beyond. He was very flexible with pick up time when i was done early with my activities. He also kept my luggage in his car, picked up my portable baterry from the hotel (I forgot it at checkout), and got me to an early train for Rome. Im very greatful to the staff. "

"Walking distance to Grimaldi station which was very convenient. We found some great restaurants nearby as well. The room was large and nice, and the hotel was safe and comfortable."

"The hotel itself is lovely. The staff were very welcoming, the room was great and the restaurant was really nice too. It has lovely gardens to sit out in and enjoy a bit of sunshine. It's about 15 min walk to the train station and harbour where there are a few nice little restaurants too. It's just unfortunate the area around it isn't as nice but that's nothing to do with the hotel itself. "

"The spacious hotel and grounds were stunningly presented with magical Christmas lights among the trees and paths and Vesuvius looming above...a view from our balcony which took our breath away! This was a perfect place to relax and enjoy a little luxury. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were so helpful and welcoming and breakfast, which included typical delicacies of Napoli and variety to suit all tastes, was beautifully presented, and delicious. In late November, understandably, the pool and evening restaurant were closed but staff helpfully suggested nearby restaurants after our day visits to spectacular Pompeii and Ercolano, both just a short drive away. It seems to us this beautiful hotel and excellent staff offer the same luxury, attention to detail and welcome to everyone, whether individuals, couples, families or large wedding parties! This was the perfect place to end our holiday around southern Italy."
