The food - a Cranberry, Brie and Mushroom Wellington was a puff pastry pie - and why were there nuts in it, paricularly as there was no indication of them being in it? Breakfast was basically OK but why no fruit juice on offer? Only one knife each when having both cooked breaksfast and toast. Slighty intimidating experience with landlord sitting nearby using laptop and wife reading a paper. Were we encroaching on their own space. The bathroom door...

"What an excellent find. Warm and welcoming it was just what I needed. The staff were very helpful the breakfast was all you could ask for and the shower was hot. I left my tech at home and had a most enjoyable stay with my radio and book for company. I highly recommend this little gem for the discerning traveller."

"Superb location over the River Nadder with a short walk through the water meadows to Salisbury proper. It is an old hotel so don't expect all modern conviemences although everything was clean and confortable. Staff were friendly and efficient. There is a bit of noise on a summers day from the pub and beer garden. The restaurant was good , fantastic lamb steak and breakfast very nice. Good value, great location"
