"We had a great stay at the Cozy Inn, Otaru. Building is very well laid out, and rooms were fairly sizeable, new and clean. There isn't much of a common area, or kitchen etc but that's fine as there is lots in the area. Staff was super friendly and helpful, it's one of those properties we wish we would have stayed longer."

"Great, small hotel in a sleepy very small city. Otaru is absolutely fantastic. Amazing food, but don’t expect late nights out. Clean, comfortable room and a super helpful staff. Ski room was a nice feature. No free parking, but for a city, and it wasn’t too pricey. 1000 yen/night. The only thing it’s missing is an onsen, but there are a few public ones close by. We stayed here while skiing Kiroro; great small mountain. Both Otaru and Kiriro were perfect for a local feel and not having a western...

Everything from check in with welcoming attentive reception staff to other staff, the view from the room, the location, the ambiance/ decor - this hotel is recommended. The only negative - no coffee provided in the room or at reception."

"Clean and spacious room! The hotel was in an ideal location and within great proximity of the train station, post office, museums, the canal, bus depot, restaurants and shopping. Enjoyed their breakfast buffet with many options as well."

"The scenery was nice, but the sound of cars driving along the canal in the morning was quite loud. It was a shame that we could hear a lot of machinery noise. The bath was very nice, as it offered a great view. The breakfast was also quite good."

"This was a lovely stay in Otaru. Pleasant staff and our room was unexpectedly ready early (rare in Hokkaido). The free wine in the lounge is a lovely perk. Rooms are small but functional with hot water showers. Could use a bit more storage in the bathroom, but we made it work. Staff are all friendly and the breakfasts were massive and delicious. Thanks for the great stay!"
