A set of extraordinary inverted pyramids appears to dominate the sky, crowning an otherworldly complex with a glassy terrace overlooking Tokyo Bay.

Tokyo Big Sight is an exhibition center that lives up to its name. Its enormous space-age Conference Tower can be seen from around Kōtō. One of the largest convention centers in Japan, this vast complex offers stunning vistas of the Tokyo Bay waterfront and has become an iconic part of the Tokyo skyline. Appreciate the modern and sleek interior décor of this impressive structure as well.

Marvel at the exceptional Conference Tower, with its ambitious design consisting of four upside-down pyramids supported by rectangular pillars. Its futuristic gleam is enhanced by the liberal use of glass and titanium in its structure. Make your way inside for the huge reception hall and conference rooms.

Climb upstairs for the Entrance Plaza, where the glass ceiling creates a spacious and airy ambiance. Temporary exhibitions are often held here, while the higher floors contain additional conference rooms. As you make your way around, appreciate the pond and the various works of art adorning the walls. These include pieces by Lee Ufan, Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen.

Enter the East Exhibition Hall for its long corridor that resembles a futuristic warehouse. Ride the moving walkways to reach spots to admire the art and check out the restaurants. The West Exhibition Hall has a large and busy atrium leading to offices and meeting rooms.

Visit the Rooftop Exhibition Area, which provides stunning views of Tokyo Bay. See the structure from outside at night, when its lights reflect in the shimmering water.

Tokyo Big Sight is in the southwestern outskirts of Kōtō, in southern Tokyo. Get the Yurikamome Line to the Kokusai-Tenjijo-Seimon station, just northwest of the complex. You can also drive and leave your car in the underground parking lot. While you’re in this district, see Ariake West Terminal Park, the Anniversaire Tokyo Bay and the Panasonic Center Tokyo.
