Tokyo City View and Sky Deck

Get 365-degree views across Tokyo’s captivating city skyline from this open-air observation deck on the rooftop of the Roppongi district’s crowning building.

Tokyo is famous for its skyline of soaring towers and Tokyo City View and Sky Deck present a sky-high experience like no other. Situated on top of the Roppongi Hills tower, the Sky Deck has indoor and outdoor sections that create an awe-inspiring panoramic experience. Look out across the gleaming high-rise buildings to the waters of Tokyo Bay and the conical peak of Mount Fuji.

Enter the ground floor of the Roppongi Hills tower and jump into an elevator to be whisked up to the 52nd floor. The doors will open onto the spacious Tokyo City View observation deck. Peer through the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows and take in Tokyo’s vast skyline and its labyrinthine streets punctuated by sky-piercing buildings. See the emerald façade of the National Art Center alongside the Aoyama Cemetery. Yoyogi Park appears like a distant patchwork of greenery, while the distinctive peak of Mount Fuji rears up from behind the clustered buildings of Shibuya.

Look out toward the waters of Tokyo Bay and see if you can spot the island of Odaiba. The red-and-white spire of the Tokyo Tower can clearly be seen next to Shiodome. The Tokyo City View observation deck is also the gateway to Roppongi Hills’ Mori Art Museum. Make your way up to the Mori Tower to reach the building’s highest point, the 781-foot (238-meter) tall Sky Deck. This dizzying top deck presents a panoramic outlook over the city from an open-air rooftop. Capture photographs of the magnificent views to keep as a souvenir.

Visit in the evening to see a vast sea of glimmering city lights speckling the skyline. For refreshments with a view, check out the café and restaurant within the Mori Art Museum.

The Tokyo City View and Sky Deck are located on the uppermost floors of the Roppongi Hills building in Roppongi. There is an admission fee to visit the Tokyo City View observation deck. The Sky Deck incurs a small extra fee and is subject to closure during severe weather. The observation decks are open daily from late morning until the evening.
