, on a ground floor room next to door so disturbed all night. Upon entering the room smelt of bleach when we returned it smelt strongly of urine. We knew it was cheap and wouldn’t be perfect but it was a horrible night. The walls and floors are paper thin. We just got up and left early, no staff at reception so just left

Doors were damaged. Plug sockets were faulty. Dodgy tv remote so couldn’t watch tv. Radiator did not work so we were shivering therefore unable to sleep. Shower was leaking and sent bursts of boiling water through the head. Despite this the receptionist was kind.

Despite my three star rating for this property there were several positives. I found all the staff encountered to be very polite and friendly. I was checked in efficiently on arrival and told food service times that evening in the bar area. I didn’t eat but had noticed the bar menu provided a good choice of dishes. The room itself was of a good size and the bedding and towels in the bathroom were spotlessly clean. There was plenty of coffee and tea provided also with a note saying to ask for more if needed. The WiFi connection was strong and consistent. It was quiet at night. The clientele in the bar appeared to be locals, it’s good to see and creates a friendly feeling. However. The room smelled very damp which was unpleasant. The bathroom ceiling showed signs of water damage, the pub I’m sure are aware of this and will deal with it though. The area the Moseley Arms is situated in would not be one I would want to walk around after dark. There is a building site almost opposite and apart from a small convenience store nearby and another pub there are not many other occupied buildings. If you are walking from Birmingham New Street Station it is about 20-25 minutes walk, 15 iif you walk briskly.

To start the bathtoom was a cupboard. On opening the door the smell of mould was palpable but the terrible aftershave they attempted to mask the smell was even worse!! Making the air unbreathable i had to leave the room and go for a walk about an hour to air out the room it was so suffocating Floor and walls in bathroom dirty too boot!! Mattress was so worn out I had to sleep on the pillows, would have slept on the floor in bedroom but equally unclean. Place needs a serious revamp cause even £50 it was overpriced. I've geniunely stayed in better hostels.

This is a good old fashioned pub. Helpful staff and clean basic rooms. A long slog uphill from New Street station, but is walkable. Breakfasts only available at weekends. Would recommend as a stop off before flying from Birmingham. We would stay again
