"Russel and Nicky made us feel very welcome and at home , the breakfast are amazing and worth a revisit alone ! The room was clean and tidy , the en-suite was spacious and the views from our windows over the river were great . We had bedroom 3 and the river runs directly outside and the sounds and views of the river are very relaxing . We would highly recommend to anyone wanting a lovely quiet peaceful break with lovely walks right on your doorstep.. we will be back for sure "

"Lovely quirky place. Super bar and dining room. Loved the view, the uneven floor in our room, the quaint stairs, the helpful staff. The shower was wonderful. The only negative is that the bed was too narrow. I think it was a basic double and we're used to having king or superking when we stay in a hotel. Not massively important, and it didn't spoil our stay, but would have liked a vegan full English breakfast option. Hope to stay again in the future."

"The Coal Exchange is a unique hotel in a very convenient spot for Cardiff Bay. Steeped in history. Good value. Downside for us was room was very dark and whilst there was a dressing table there was no stool nor light so you couldnt use it... it was so dark in that part of our 3 people room ( 102) . There were also no extra pillows as you normally would have. Some of the staircases needed a good hoover and clean. Its such a lovely place just needs tlc and attention to those details that matter....
