Just use the room and go to a café. The basement rooms are better than you would think. They have windows and many have decent views. "This hotel was roughly 15 minutes or less walking distance from all the main attractions in York. Great to walk out and see the castle right in front. The rooms were clean and decent size for the double bed room, and had pleasant staff. The included breakfast had a nice assortment of hot and cold food options. "Really nice property, very convenient to York city centre (including York Minster and the Shambles). Within walking distance from York station and plenty of dining options nearby. The bed was good, mattress seemed new, and the shower was very good. The room was a little warm during very hot periods, especially since the bedding was a covered duvet and no top sheet, and the walls were a bit thin for neighbour noise, but overall I had a good stay and would stay again."
