"Cancelled our break with only 2 weeks notice! Very difficult to rebook with such short notice around the Christmas period! "

"This was a great stay for 2 adults and 2 children. Despite there being a sign up on arrival that there was a private event with music till midnight… I didn’t hear a thing, the rooms are nice and quiet, the pool was lovely to wind down in after a busy day, and the breakfast was great, plenty of choice, fresh and was replenished often. Parking is £7 for each night, and there is a bus stop on the opposite side of the road just outside the hotel to take you into York, the bus’s are every 15...

"Large family room, comfortable bed, pillows, good shower. Lovely location. Very good room service and restaurant, delicious food. Breakfast very reasonable too. "

"The hotel was fine, although, the room cleaner seemed to run late and resulted in my room not getting cleaned and the free tea and coffee not being replenished. Apart from that it was fine as I use a hotel room as a base to explore my destination. The breakfast was very good and lots of it too. "

"Good location, staff friendly & helpful. Room was nice but beds about 30cm too high and very firm. Sad that there is no parking of their own but a discount given for the NCP carpark at the end of the road (it's a little scary trying to drive up and down the floors as the sloaps are so tight & steep)"

"Very quiet and and clean. Typical English cottage taken from a history movie, with a homey feeling. Loved staying there. Walked to town easily when the weather was good, or took the buss (station very close). Would love to stay there again when visiting York. "
