I am sorry to have missed Amelia due to her accident but Pepe was most welcomming in arranging taxi's, excursions, etc. The house with 2 rooms is centrally located just off the main strip with the beach on the other side, whilst the main hotels are located away, at either end of the strip. Internet requires the purchase of cards which can be hard to source so buy several when found as 1 hour is only 50 CUP. I would recommend this home from home.

Amazing stay at Casa Amelia
Staying at Casa Amelia was a wonderful experience, Amelia couldn't have been a better host and her son Pepe made delicious breakfasts ( small extra charge)The accomodation was comfortable, spotlessly clean and literally 250m from the stunning Varadero beach bars, cafes and restaurants. We would thoroughly recommend staying here.

We had a two night stay at Varadero D'Amelia just before Christmas and it turned out to be a wonderful start to our Cuba adventure. Amelia and her family were very welcoming and they provided excellent advice on local environs including places to eat and see. In the end our stay at Varadero D'Amelia was a great introduction to Cuban life and culture and our only regret is that we probably should have stayed longer.

Amelia and her son Pepe were excellent hosts. Very kind, informative and helpful as we navigated the travel and local currency. The property was very well maintained and we felt safe in our room. It was great to have access to a fridge inside our room too. There walk to Varadero beach was easy, plus restaurants and the beach bus. Highly recommend.

Amelia and her son was very helpful with everything. The breakfast was excellent with lots of fruits, bread, omelette and fresh juice. The house was incredible clean and we could enjoy a huge terrace. The room was also very clean and it was quiet during the night. We will definitely stay there again if we come back! Close to the bus station and to restaurants. The beautiful beach is only a few minutes away by foot.

Amelia was an amazing host and provided great service. She has a very beautiful yard that’s gated for better security. The room had a big comfy king size bed with ac, tv, fridge and a rooftop patio facing the ocean. The location was nice and close to restaurants and downtown Varadero. She’s got a lovely little dog that’s nice to hang out with. I’d highly recommend staying with her. It’s your own private apartment connected to her house but you don’t hear anything. It feels like your own place!

This was perfect for our family with two good sized rooms that were clean and a bit off the main avenue. The rooms have AC to let everyone get a good night of sleep. View of the coast and a basketball court from the rooftop. We enjoyed watching the sunrise there. Amelia was pleasant, spoke decent English (our Spanish isn't very strong) and helped us along.

Our host at D' Amelia was awesome !! We enjoyed interacting with her. She was extremely kind and helpful and offered excellent recommendations for dining. I was excited to book in at D' Amelia when I read that Laundry and A Spa service was offered at this Hostal, however disappointment took over when we arrived on July 23. There was no laundry service, no Spa, and no Golfing !! To the advertisers, "BE TRUTHFUL"

Amelia was hands down the best host, a real homely mother feel to her, warm and welcoming and excellent local knowledge. Explained to me in exact details how to get around on the bus (you pay $5 and it is unlimited for the day and takes you on a loop, if you needed to know). It is clear she puts in a lot of effort into running the Casa, the room was spotless, the sheets were sparkling clean. Everywhere smelt clean and it was all tidy. She also makes herself available when needed. Also a nice balcony you could sit out on just by the bedroom doors, perfect for a quiet chill in the sunshine. Breakfast was excellent made by her son, very tasty and plenty of it. Room had a fridge in it, which is a nice touch, esp as it is not filled with an expensive mini bar, you can just put your own drinks in there. Aircon worked perfectly. Security is clearly very important for Amelia, the gate is locked, for which you are provided a key. And the doors are kept locked too (even if I couldn't remember which key was which). If I return to Cuba I'll be hoping to stay with Amelia.
