"WARNING; do not visit this resort! Unless you want to be absolutely pampered and have the most relaxing week of your life! (Not even kidding 😅) My husband and I visited The Excellence El Carmen Feb 3rd-9th and it was beyond our wildest dreams. I actually used Trip Advisor before booking to compare different resorts I was looking at and after reading the reviews on here decided to book; I’m so glad we did! This resort is all of 5 stars and more! They have a stunning location, the staff were so friendly and kind, the beach was gorgeous, restaurants incredible, and our room was top notch. We decided to purchase a club room while visiting, so we had a private pool and sitting area, and had access to the magna restaurant and extra bars and pool areas, and it was well worth the little bit of extra money! From the moment we arrived everything was perfect!They have a private “club” check in in a wonderfully scented private lobby; had champagne for us when we pulled up; ushered us to the private bar for delicious and beautiful drinks, and then ushered us to our room. Every day around 4:30 or five someone stopped by our room to drop off fun and delicious petit fours. We loved the coffee shop and the fact that we could walk in at anytime and grab a coffee and a quick snack if we wanted to. (Thank you Iveliesse T and Claudy who regularly worked the coffee shop and made beautiful art in our lattes) "

"Such a beautiful resort. Our butler was Karin. He was helpful and professional. The staff were all so nice and welcoming. Beachfront which was perfect for us."

"The property itself is outdated, I can’t say I had a bad experience there though, I had AC the whole time, light never went out and water worked fine. The food is my only complaint tbh. And more outlets! The key definitely did stop working one night. They need to invest in updating the whole hotel. But overall I had a great time. "

"As our family, our animal lovers, we appreciated that there were cats and a beautiful pink flamingo on the property. I believe the pink flamingoes name was Pinky, which was adorable. We appreciated that the staff did everything they could to try and look after the animals. Thank you for a very pleasant experience. "
