"WARNING; do not visit this resort! Unless you want to be absolutely pampered and have the most relaxing week of your life! (Not even kidding 😅) My husband and I visited The Excellence El Carmen Feb 3rd-9th and it was beyond our wildest dreams. I actually used Trip Advisor before booking to compare different resorts I was looking at and after reading the reviews on here decided to book; I’m so glad we did! This resort is all of 5 stars and more! They have a stunning location, the staff were so friendly and kind, the beach was gorgeous, restaurants incredible, and our room was top notch. We decided to purchase a club room while visiting, so we had a private pool and sitting area, and had access to the magna restaurant and extra bars and pool areas, and it was well worth the little bit of extra money! From the moment we arrived everything was perfect!They have a private “club” check in in a wonderfully scented private lobby; had champagne for us when we pulled up; ushered us to the private bar for delicious and beautiful drinks, and then ushered us to our room. Every day around 4:30 or five someone stopped by our room to drop off fun and delicious petit fours. We loved the coffee shop and the fact that we could walk in at anytime and grab a coffee and a quick snack if we wanted to. (Thank you Iveliesse T and Claudy who regularly worked the coffee shop and made beautiful art in our lattes) "

"The resort itself was neat and cleaned highly recommend the food not so great but overall the stay it self was nice a lot of walking for sure (they do have golf carts for transportation in the resort) which it’s a plus , pretty big resort never had any issues to access beach chair for the pool area, rooms were always cleaned shower was a plus hot & cold water never had any issues. The beach is amazing! Pictures online does not compare to in person most definitely looks better than pictures for sure just a stunning resort to stay in with a spouse & children’s. my only complaint was the steak restaurants & Mexican don’t really recommend the food was not what we thought it would be. The buffet was our overall pick never disappointed!"
