"We had a wonderful stay at the Royal Sonesta. We stayed with our two young kids. The pool is great for families and the shape makes it never feel crowded and easy for adults to relax and kids to play without bothering each other. The beach access is wonderful. The staff is friendly and helpful and helped us plan some excursions. Very family friendly. They gave my kids little buckets and shovels to play on the beach at check in and they always had kids menus and crayons when we ate. Rooms were clean and spacious. Bathrooms were updated. The rooms all have balconies, but I wish they were a little larger. You can stand on the balcony, but it is not large enough for any furniture or to sit on. Overall, we had a wonderful time and plan to return."

"This is a top-notch resort. Staff was attentive, rooms were comfortable and property was well manicured. It’s a beautiful beach and a very nice place to stay. What I didn’t like were the hidden costs. There were so many taxes added to each and every day that it was about another $100 a day. Plus, the additional cost of self parking is ridiculous! The price that is advertised is just the tip of the iceberg. If you want a spa, golf course, tennis and pickle ball courts, a great pool and beach where you want to relax and hang out at the resort all day, everyday, it’s great. We were hardly here, so it was kind of a waste of money for us. "
